SmartScripts.ie is operated by SmartScripts Ltd, an Irish company providing online doctor and prescription services. We are registered data controllers under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.

2. What Data We Collect

When you use our service we may collect the following categories of personal data:

• Identity data: name, date of birth, PPS number (where required for dispensing)
• Contact data: email address, phone number, delivery address
• Health data: medical questionnaire responses, prescription history, GP notes
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, cookies
• Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referral source

Health data is a special category of personal data under GDPR Article 9. We process it on the basis of explicit consent and the provision of healthcare services (Article 9(2)(h)).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

• Assess clinical suitability and issue prescriptions
• Communicate prescription status and appointment information
• Process payments and arrange pharmacy collection or delivery
• Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (HSE, IMC)
• Improve our service through anonymised analytics

4. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your data. We may share it with:

• IMC-registered GPs reviewing your consultation
• Partner pharmacies fulfilling your prescription
• Regulated IT processors (hosting, CRM, payment) under data processing agreements
• Regulatory bodies if required by law

5. Data Retention

Medical records are retained for a minimum of seven years in accordance with Irish health legislation. Non-medical data (contact, marketing consent) is retained for up to three years from last interaction, or until you withdraw consent.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal data. You may object to processing and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing). To exercise your rights, email info@smartscripts.ie.
